THE LAGOON

Whoever visits Grado cannot miss out on a boat trip to visit the uncontaminated nature of the lagoon, away from the frantic pace of today's way of living. Discover the characteristic "casoni", the straw huts, which are the shelters of the few remaining fishermen of Grado. Along the way you will see the remains of ancient churches and, among these, the towering bell-tower of Barbana, the most ancient sanctuary of Mary in the region, where on the first Sunday of July, since 1237, there is the suggestive procession of "Perdon" (Forgiveness) across the lagoon.
